The Search For Summer Wedding Themes!
Planning an outside wedding wasn’t as stressful as I thought it would be. In fact, it didn’t cost as much as an indoor wedding would have cost us. Since we had the flowers and mother nature everywhere, I didn’t have to spend a lot of money on decorations. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. I could have had our wedding ceremony on the beach, with a fun filled beach party reception, or an elegant garden party, but I chose a ceremony and reception in the park. I was surprised at all the parks available for weddings.
Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. If you’re going to have your ceremony outside, it’s a good idea to have an alternative plan just in case the weather turns on you. A tent was suggested just in case the weather turns out badly.
Plan “A” was setting up a fabulous trellis for our ceremony to be performed under and canopies for the reception. I only had to get decorations for my bridal table and the reception tables for our friends and family. With the beautiful background of the park as our main décor, all I really needed besides table settings were a few extra flowers here and there. By using artificial flowers I thought we may be able to avoid any univited guests, like bees. The only way you could tell that the flowers were artificial, was by touch, they were magical. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. You have to make sure your cake is safe from the summer sun, make sure you have citronella candles at your reception and that your tent has nearby rest room areas. [There was a variety of accessories available for the outdoor reception. Each of our guest had a park bench place card holder and the centerpieces were flowers arranged around a glass globe with citronella votive candles inside. I found very decorative favor boxes and used them to package the chrome bottle openers we bought for our friends and family as a summer wedding favor. The most beautiful part of our wedding table was our cake with it’s gorgeous wedding cake topper.
While shopping for my wedding accessories I saw this topper and couldn’t resist it. They do customizing for the bride and groom. After I sent them a head shot of my fiance and myself they made our bride and groom topper to look exactly like us. What a wonderful momento of our wedding day. Our friends and family were really loved the cake topper and gave us a lot of compliments on it. Our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set was just a few of the fantastic accessories I ordered for our ceremony and reception. You wouldn’t believe all the nice accessories you can buy online.
Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. Plan B never had to be used, since the weather was so beautiful, and thankfully it remained that way through the whole evening. We all loved the super DJ and the fantastic job he was doing, and if I’m right, he probably kept the music and dancing going on for quite a while after we left to go on our honeymoon. A lot of good things were said about our wedding ceremony and everyone said they had a fantastic time at the reception. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. If we should decide somewhere down the line to have a renewal wedding ceremony, I think I’d like to have it in the park again.
