I’ve been looking for a communion party favor…
We had a delightful little communion party for our daughter. I wanted to give out communion favors that would have a religious theme to them. So, I checked out a lot of religious shops and even book stores but still couldn’t find anything that seemed just right. So I decided to check online and see what items they may have for our communion party. There were quite a few lovely votive candles that worked out perfectly for table decoration. The teddy bears filled with candy were the first holy communion favors for the kids, and I picked out candies in pretty little tins for the adults. I decided to get each guest an extra gift and ordered religious photo frames too. I liked them so much, I bought two more for myself.
It was almost like we were looking for her wedding dress, instead of a communion dress. I know that before long she’ll be walking down the aisle on her wedding day. Her beautiful dress and veil made her look so much like a miniature bride. I guess in a way when you are planning a communion party it’s a little bit like planning a wedding reception. We ordered a cake, had lots of food for everyone and even had a band. We tried to keep things as simple as possible but at the same time show her how proud we were of her and make this a day she’ll never forget. I also bought a girls pink photo album for her to have as her very own with pictures of her first holy communion day and the party with her friends and family. I did go to a bakery for her cake, but as far as the food, we didn’t use caterers, some of the ladies helped me out by preparing some dishes of their own to bring. There were at least four different kinds of salads, including a great tasting potato salad, and vegetable dishes, fried chicken and more. We had a fantastic dinner to share with our family and our best friends. It turned out to be a very nice evening and everyone seemed to have a good time, including our daughter. Her father and I had her name engraved on a beautiful gold cross we ordered for her, and there were many wonderful communion gifts she received from our guests, too.
All through the party I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was practicing for the day she grows up and gets married. Someday, not too far away, we’ll be filling out invitations and picking out wedding accessories together. When that day comes, at least I’ll have a heads up on where to find the supplies and accessories she’ll need. I’ll go to the same place I bought our decorations and first communion favor, right here on my computer. There is quite a selection of wedding supplies and decorations for both ceremony and reception. I sort of gave the site the once over and checked out some of the items they have, and there is quite a selection for all kinds of events. This online shopping spot will come in handy in the future when I have to plan for birthdays, graduations and other important events. If you are planning a bachelorette party, or a shower for a bride to be, or maybe you want to throw a baby shower for a close friend or family member, if so, this is the place to find all of your accessories. You can choose from many themed ceremonies and receptions like oceanside weddings, or seasonal ones like winter wonderland and my particular favorite, western themed receptions. Anything you want for the perfect themed shower or birthday party is available, and the choices of accessories are really fantastic. That’s why I’m hanging on to my online shopping site, I know I’ll be using it quite often.
