We had a delightful little communion party for our daughter. I wanted to give out communion favors that would have a religious theme to them. So, I checked out a lot of religious shops and even book stores but still couldn’t find anything that seemed just right. So I decided to check online and see what items they may have for our communion party. There were quite a few lovely votive candles that worked out perfectly for table decoration. The teddy bears filled with candy were the first holy communion favors for the kids, and I picked out candies in pretty little tins for the adults. I decided to get each guest an extra gift and ordered religious photo frames too. I liked them so much, I bought two more for myself.

It was almost like we were looking for her wedding dress, instead of  a communion dress. I know that before long she’ll be walking down the aisle on her wedding day. Her beautiful dress and veil made her look so much like a miniature bride. I guess in a way when you are planning a communion party it’s a little bit like planning a wedding reception. We ordered a cake, had lots of food for everyone and even had a band. We tried to keep things as simple as possible but at the same time show her how proud we were of her and make this a day she’ll never forget. I also bought a girls pink photo album for her to have as her very own with pictures of her first holy communion day and the party with her friends and family. I did go to a bakery for her cake, but as far as the food, we didn’t use caterers, some of the ladies helped me out by preparing some dishes of their own to bring. There were at least four different kinds of salads, including a great tasting potato salad, and vegetable dishes, fried chicken and more. We had a fantastic dinner to share with our family and our best friends. It turned out to be a very nice evening and everyone seemed to have a good time, including our daughter. Her father and I had her name engraved on a beautiful gold cross we ordered for her, and there were many wonderful communion gifts she received from our guests, too.

All through the party I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was practicing for the day she grows up and gets married. Someday, not too far away, we’ll be filling out invitations and picking out wedding accessories together. When that day comes, at least I’ll have a heads up on where to find the supplies and accessories she’ll need. A themed wedding ceremony and reception semmed like the best among several wedding ideas I checked out. All I had to do now, was decide which theme I wanted to go with. It sounded like a lot of fun to have a country western themed wedding. I even considered having a barn dance for our reception party. We were having our wedding during the hot summer months, so a beach themed wedding sounded pretty great. We could have a great time, swimming, partying on shore and watching a fascinating sunset in the background. There were a lot of themed weddings and receptions to consider. And they had every item online from decorations to a wedding cake server to match every theme. All the themed suggestions were quite unique, but it was the fairytale theme that I liked the best.

Since, I had made up my mind to use the storybook theme, it was time to find my accessories and reception supplies. Of course the very first thing to do is get the invitations for our friends and family. Next, it was time to choose the wedding decorations and accessories I wanted for our ceremony and reception. I wanted everything to look as Cinderella like as possible. First I needed to get the decorations I wanted to use in the church. We used satin bows on the end of each pew row and draped a tulle swag from row to row. There were flowers in tall vases placed around the altar and taper candles in fairy tale themed candle holders on each side of our beautiful unity candle.

I also had a unique fairytale wedding guestbook for everyone to sign when they entered the church. This was the most beautiful storybook wedding ceremony I could have ever wished for. Our little ring boy and flower girl were adorable and did such a super job at the ceremony. After the ceremony we didn’t leave in a limo, we left the church in a horse drawn carriage the same way Cinderella and Prince Charming did in the fairytale.

With flowers everywhere and crystal and silver shining on the tables the entire reception hall was so elegant. Crystal champagne flutes with stems decorated with a fairytale design was placed on all the tables. The place card holders on the guests tables were adorable little castles. I also got the idea to purchase little carriage favor boxes and fill them with candies for each guest at their tables.

Even though all of our reception tables were gorgeous, our wedding table was the most breathtaking. It was a table fit for a king and his queen. Our cake of five gorgeous tiers, with a fairytale wedding topper, sat at the end of our wedding table on a smaller table. While shopping for our other reception supplies I found the perfect fairytale cake topper there too. I saw a gorgeous wedding knife in a storybook theme with a very decorative handle. I really liked the wedding knife and server, so now I wanted to make everything else perfect! Our wedding cake and topper were complimented by the lovely knife set next to it.

After we were toasted with our lovely crystal champagne flutes, it was time for the bride and groom to have their first dance together as man and wife. We chose our favorite song, “I Swear” by all for one, as our first bride and groom dance. Once we were done with our wedding dance, the other couples joined us on the dance floor. There were so many photographs taken at the wedding and reception, I’m so glad I bought my fairytale wedding album for all these memories. Many of our friends and family commented on what lovely storybook favors we had given them as gifts.

Our wedding and reception was truly unbelievable and I know now that fairytales can come true.

I needed some fresh ideas for my daughters sixteenth birthday party. A friend of mine said she went online and found a lot of accessories and party favors for her daughters party. So I decided to give it a try. I was really surprised at what super favors and table decorations they had. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.

I had a chat with my daughter and got her views on what type of party she wanted to have, and she decided on a roller skating and slumber birthday party. So I made the arrangements, and reserved tables with the roller rink in our neighborhood. Then I invited all of her best girl friends. It didn’t cost as much as I thought it would. They had a great package deal for birthday parties, with pizza, hot dogs and refreshments. At home I had everything set up for the party to continue. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.

I ordered more than the cookie cutters when I went shopping online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. I found pink photo albums for the girls and gave each of them a disposable camera for party pictures. I gave them the cameras before we left for the roller rink, but they had no idea about the albums until later. Even though they took a lot of photos at the roller rink, they all saved some picture taking for the sleepover.

As soon as we got home, we celebrated with a sweet sixteen party with cake and ice cream and she opened all of her presents. We picked up movies on the way home for the girls and I made sure they had lots of of snacks and drinks, so they were all set for the night. After they got tired of dancing to their favorite tunes, they decided to give make overs and manicures to each other. You could tell they were all having a fantastic time.

Finally, things started to quiet down and they broke out the popcorn and movies. Even though I tried to stay out of the way, when they asked me to watch a movie with them, I jumped at the chance. I thought that was so sweet of them to ask. After the second movie, one by one, they started falling asleep. Soon, the only ones awake were me and my daughter, but she didn’t last much longer. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. It was really sweet of the girls to do that. They shared a couple of more hours together and then some of the girls had left for home. As they were leaving, the girls thanked me for the wonderful time they had and all of the sweet sixteen ideas I bought for them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?

I went right to my computer and began ordering from the same place I bought all the bridal shower decorations and favors from. I had the cake covered with pink icing and little cake decorations, in honor of my niece to be. The cake topper was fantastic too,with different colored baby blocks. It was a great looking cake, and the decorations turned out divinely for it.

Everyone fell in love with the little baby bootie candles I had for baby shower favor ideas, and they thought the little favor boxes they came in were adorable too. Decorations and accessories isn’t all they have there, I even bought quite a few baby gifts from there too. Along with a pretty little pink baby photo album, I bought baby blankets and a layette set too. My baby shower party turned out to be a great success and all my guests seemed impressed with their baby shower favor. We had a lot of laughs together as we watched her open all the baby gifts and played silly games. I think one of my favorite baby shower games is where you take baby bottles and fill them with liquid and pass them out to each guest. The winner of this bottle game is the player to empty her baby bottle first. I also had everyone give me a picture of them when they were babies and pinned them on a board. Everyone then had to try to find a match of a baby photo to the adult person. Whichever guest had the most matches won the game. I ordered all the prizes when I ordered my party supplies and accessories. There were adorable little candles, fragrant scented soaps and adorable picture frames as prizes.

I started shopping for my themed accessories and supplies as soon as we were sure we were having a beach wedding. The first thing to get was the invitations for our beach themed wedding. Since I had a couple of invitations I had to do over again, I was really glad I bought extra. With the invitations all done and on their way to our prospective guests, I could move on to picking out the beach wedding dress I wanted for our ceremony. I looked at several dresses and radiant full length gowns, but really couldn’t make up my mind. I was unsure about the two full length wedding gowns I found, I didn’t want to be uncomfortable at my beach wedding. So, even though I loved the gowns, I chose a lightweight knee length beaded satin dress with a gorgeous lace covering and spaghetti straps.

The bridesmaids wore lovely little linen halter beach dresses with a crocheted bodice covering. All the groomsmen wore linen white shirts and sand colored pants and my husband, to be looked so handsome in his blue linen shirt and white pants. Our flower girl wore an adorable little sundress and the ringboy stayed very fresh in his little khaki shorts and white cotton shirt. Everyone in the wedding party looked fantastic and the bouquets were absolutely the most beautiful arrangements I could have found.

I wish now,with all the photos of our wedding being taken, that I would have bought two leather wedding albums, instead of only one. I planned to have pictures of all the fantastic decorations at our wedding and reception and photos of every guest that attended. Pictures of our satin canopy and flowered arch where we stood to take our vows was a definite must. When the ceremony was over, my new husband and I went to our hotel room to change into some more comfortable beach outfits. In fact a few of the bridesmaids and groomsmen also left to change, while others just wore swim suits under their wedding attire. I wrote on all the invitations to dress in casual clothing for this wedding.

Our guests seemed impressed with the wedding accessories for our reception tables that were done in a beach themed décor. I bought everything for our tables at the same place I bought our lovely beach themed wedding album. The place card holders I chose were these miniature beach chairs that can later be used as photo frames. The guests seemed to like them, and I thought they were just adorable. The beach wedding favors I chose for our guests made the perfect little thank you gifts. I chose adorable tea lights that looked just like sand castles to remind them of our beach party. I found quite a bit of accessories and decorations for our beach themed reception tables and the bride and groom table as well. I not only bought our beach themed wedding cake topper there, but also the cake knife server set, beautiful crystal champagne glasses and lovely wine glasses too.

A lot of our friends and family made comments about out lovely reception décor. Adding to the oceanside atmosphere were lots of gel candles I bought from them to put on our reception tables, and a few tiki torches were placed around the area. The beautiful ocean whitecaps and the warm sandy beach made the perfect dream wedding and reception location.
